The location of placement will be dependent on the region that they are selected to work in.

· Western region – will be assigned to the Sugar Run and Mach location in IL

· Eastern region – will be assigned to the Harrison and Marion County plants in WV

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· The engineering intern shall provide operational support in and around the preparation plant. Assignments may vary depending upon interests, experience, and ongoing project needs

· Operational tasks separate from ongoing projects include:

o Assisting plant operator in daily tasks

o Working with foremen on maintenance tasks, planning & setup for maintenance shifts

o Working with engineers and plant management to evaluate plant efficiency, process improvement opportunities, and track key performance indicators

· The intern will work with plant management, operators, and engineers to understand the mineral processing concepts essential to operating an efficient and safe preparation plant

Experience

  • Must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Mining experience is preferred but not required

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Compliance with company policies, procedures and safety standard
  • MSHA Certification (training available if needed)
  • Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
  • Must be able to successfully complete industry approved training courses
  • Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Will be working a 9 hour/day, 5 day/week schedule with overtime availabl e
  • Must be capable of navigating around the plant, up and down stairs as the job requires. Preparation plants contain upwards of 7 stories/levels
  • Ability/willingness to work different shifts when assigned
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere when needed
  • Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
