The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is a 501(c)3 grantmaking foundation that receives an annual Congressional appropriation in excess of $310 million and is governed by a private, bipartisan Board of Directors. This unusual arrangement positions NED to play a unique role as America’s leading foundation for freedom, empowering the institution to be nimble, innovative, and risk-taking in support of democratic activists, civil society organizations, independent media, and the NED family core institutes (the International Republican Institute, the National Democratic Institute, the Center for International Private Enterprise, and the Solidarity Center).
We seek a motivated, energetic, organized, and resourceful Data Integration Engineer who is a mission-oriented team player, and who would be excited to join a fast-paced IT, team. This position is based in Washington, D.C.
Position Summary:
The Data Integration Engineer contributes extensive expertise to deliver high-quality data integration jobs that enable data exchange among NED cloud systems and extract data from these systems and databases for analytics, visualization, and AI. The position will analyze, design, and develop the integration jobs and interact with stakeholders across the organization to solicit their requirements and obtain acceptance for integration deliverables. Other responsibilities include providing recommendations on tools, architecture, platform maintenance, and upgrades. This position plays a critical role in ensuring data security and quality and meeting data governance requirements
Responsibilities:
·Design, develop, and maintain data integration processes between internal and external systems.
·Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and translate business requirements into high-quality integration solutions.
·Ensure the integrity, consistency, and security of all data exchanges.
·Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data integration workflows.
·Document all data integration procedures and systems.
·Administer the integration platform.
·Implement platform updates and ensure platform security.
·Train and support end users on new and existing integration solutions.
·Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data integration to bring innovative solutions and improvements.
·Work with other technical staff to ensure conformance to IT policies and standards.
·Perform other duties as may be assigned.
·The level of responsibility and independence in assigned tasks will increase with experience.
Qualifications:
·BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required.
·8-10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in the full cycle of data integration from requirements to production.
·Experience in data integration development with platforms such as Informatica, Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, or Talend.
·Demonstrated experience coordinating and collaborating with business application stakeholders.
·Demonstrated experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
·Demonstrated experience performing testing
·Experience with integrating Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, and ADP systems is a plus.
·Prior experience in a non-profit environment is highly desirable.
·Experience with SQL and relational database systems.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
·Strong understanding of data integration patterns, ETL processes, and API management.
·Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.)
·Able to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
·Attention to detail; the ability to multi-task and manage complex processes.
·Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
·Self-starter with excellent task management and administrative skills.
·Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
·Function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, mission-oriented team, performing effectively as an independent producer under broad management direction.
·Authorized to work in the United States.

Located in Washington, D.C., the salary range for this role is $ 103,000 – 185,000 USD, plus benefits. The final offer for a successful candidate will be determined by a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, education, and market considerations.
