Position: Project Engineer (Full-Time)
Location: Johnston, IA
Salary and Benefits:
- Compensation: Depends on experience
- Health Insurance: United Healthcare (two plan options available), with up to $420/month premium support
- Retirement Plan: American Funds Simple IRA with a dollar-for-dollar match up to 3% of compensation
- Paid Time Off: 4 hours accrual per bi-weekly pay period (13 days/year) up to 136 hours max (17 days/year), plus 3 sick days
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring seamless project execution through effective design and engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the millwork industry and hands-on experience with Mozaik software and AutoCAD. The Project Engineer will be responsible for creating shop drawings, generating CNC files, and coordinating with production to ensure design intent and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed shop drawings using AutoCAD based on architectural plans and client specifications.
- Utilize Mozaik software to design CNC operations, create part layouts, and optimize machining strategies for production.
- Review project requirements and specifications, ensuring all design elements comply with industry standards and company practices.
- Collaborate with production and installation teams to resolve design challenges and optimize manufacturability.
- Communicate with project managers and clients to confirm design details, material choices, and project timelines.
- Maintain an organized digital file system for all project-related documentation, drawings, and CNC files.
- Support the production team by troubleshooting design issues and providing technical guidance as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design and production efficiency.
- Demonstrate exemplary leadership and a proactive mindset.
- Some travel may be required for project oversight and team development.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the millwork industry, with a focus on custom cabinetry and architectural millwork.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software is required.
- Proficiency in cabinet design software is required.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and machining principles.
- Knowledge of woodworking materials, hardware, and construction methods.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with additional CAD/CAM software.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production management tools.
