Job Description

INDECK Power Equipment Company is looking for a full-time, hands-on, Assistant Manager for the Warehouse. This position reports to the Warehouse Manager, assisting with day-to-day supervision of boiler technicians and warehouse employees. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must have a good working knowledge of steam and hot water boilers, burners (gas, oil & combination), associated controls & electrical circuits, combustion, and associated piping systems. 
  • Applicant must have a background of working on industrial boiler/burner systems.
  • PC Literate, Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience on linkageless control highly desirable.
  • Must be proficient with instrumentation and controls.
  • Maintain orderly and clean work area in compliance with Company safety requirements.
  • Manage scheduling, dispatching and routing of deliveries by truck, rail, ocean and air in the US and Canada
  • Manager relationships with brokers including negotiation of rates, monitoring service levels and tracking on time performance
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervision. 
  • Assist with the day to day operations of boiler test and repair facility.
  • Responding to the sales and engineering departments needs.
  • Supervision and training of warehouse employees.
  • This position is a mix of office and shop duties.

Qualification/requirement:  

  • Detailed oriented. 
  • Good with basic math. 
  • Able to work in team environment. 
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
  • Bilingual (spanish) a plus.

Education/Experience:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent; four or more years related experience and/or training (boiler focused experience)
  • Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.


Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Strong ability to problem solve. 
  • Ability to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
  • Ability to read schematics.


Physical Demands:

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift up to 50 pounds.


Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
