Caregiver - Dementia Companion (Part-Time, Urgent Need!)

Location: Foulkeways at Gwynedd, 1102 Meetinghouse Road, Gwynedd, PA 19436

Shifts Available: Fridays, 10:00 AM - 7:00 AM (Overnight)

Pay Range: $16 - $17 per hour

Employment Type: Part-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced caregiver to provide full dementia care oversight and companionship for a senior male client at a retirement community in Gwynedd, PA. The ideal candidate will ensure the client remains engaged in activities, enjoys outdoor walks, and receives the necessary dementia care cues and supervision.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and cognitive engagement for the client.
• Accompany the client to community activities based on the activity calendar.
• Escort the client outdoors to the Dream Garden and other community spaces.
• Provide dementia care cuing and cognitive oversight.
• Monitor and ensure the client’s safety and well-being at all times.
• Call nursing staff at Foulkeways for assistance with personal care or toileting needs.
• Assist with light housekeeping as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in dementia care and companionship.
• Ability to provide cognitive oversight and emotional support.
• Must be dependable, patient, and compassionate.
• Ability to work independently within a retirement community setting.
• Must be comfortable escorting and walking with the client around the community.

Special Requirements

• Must be able to recognize when to call Foulkeways staff for additional assistance.
• Must be comfortable accompanying the client on walks and engaging in community activities.

Work Environment

The client resides in a retirement community in Abington House North, Room #103. Staff at Foulkeways will handle medication reminders and meal delivery. Caregivers will follow all community protocols and coordinate with nursing staff as needed.
