Job Description

Pay Range: $18.15- $20.00

Program Overview:

We are hiring motivated individuals for a structured CDL-A Driver Apprenticeship based at our Schenectady, NY distribution center. This entry-level training program offers hands-on experience, classroom instruction, and professional coaching designed to prepare candidates for local CDL-A driving roles within our fleet.

Trainees are paid throughout the program and placed into full-time CDL-A positions upon successful completion.

Program Details:

• Paid, full-time training program (no over-the-road assignments)
• Local and regional routes — drivers return home daily
• Structured instruction in classroom, closed-course, and live route environments
• Real-world experience as fueler, yard jockey, and trainee driver
• Equipment training on our in-service fleet
• 1-on-1 coaching from certified trainers
• Focused on safety, compliance, and operational readiness

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid NYS driver’s license with clean driving record
• Must pass DOT physical and drug screening
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs and move up to 3,000 lbs rolling weight
• Willingness to work varied shifts during training
• Interest in developing a long-term driving career

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly pay during all training phases
• Full benefits eligibility begins after 30 days (medical, dental, vision, 401(k))
• Job placement into a full-time CDL-A driving position upon graduation
• No-cost training (no tuition or repayment obligations)
• All training performed locally using current company equipment
