Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Unit: CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
Shift: 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday (40-hour guarantee)
Hours: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Midland, MI 48670

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure all supplies and equipment are available and sterile for procedures.
• Confirm and/or assemble sterile instruments for use during surgery. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during operations.
• Maintain and monitor the sterile field throughout the procedure.
• Assist in keeping an accurate count of drugs, sharps, and instruments to ensure patient safety during surgery.
• Provide assistance during open-heart surgeries and other CVOR procedures, staying alert to anticipate and fulfill the needs of the surgical team.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Surgical Tech (CST), with open-heart surgery experience required.
• Experience in a tertiary care center or a designated Level I or II trauma center is a must. Experience in a Level III trauma center may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Travel experience is highly preferred.

Certifications:

• BLS (AHA) certification
• NBSTSA Certification (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)

Certifications:

• NBSTSA and BLS (AHA) certification required.
