Job Description


MAU is hiring a Certified Welding Inspector for our client in Ushers Machine & Tool Co. in Greenville, SC. As a Certified Welding Inspector, you will provide technical expertise through visual, dimensional, and process conformance inspection of welds and the welding processes to ensure customer satisfaction under limited supervision. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information
  • Monday – Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • Overtime as needed
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) required

  • Maintain sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to handle paperwork, type, and operate office equipment
  • Align with and fully support the company’s Mission, Safety, and Quality policies, adhering strictly to all standards

Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with or certification in Visual Inspection (VT) a plus
Essential Functions
  • Perform timely in-process, and final inspections of weld process and welded components and parts
  • Issue nonconformance records (NCRs) and provide feedback to the manufacturing team
  • Record all results and findings on testing and inspection into manufacturing software
  • Witness/monitor weld activities to ensure approved processes are being followed
  • Follow specific written and oral instruction for visual, dimensional, and process inspection
  • Understand basic blueprints, specifications, and customer drawings/designs
  • Perform detailed visual, dimensional, and process inspections to determine conformance to customer requirements
  • Inspects material for quality, type, size, etc. before welding to ensure production of conforming parts
  • Utilize borescopes, gauge pins, optical comparators, XRF Scanner, calipers, and micrometers to examine in-process and completed parts
  • Inspect finished parts, and components including piping, tubing, and fittings for leaks and adherence to specifications for pressure levels
  • Review functional test results for conformance and report NCRs (Nonconformance Reports) to management
  • Recommends updates/revisions to procedures based on observations where instructions may be unclear or incorrect based on customer requirements
  • Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination, and testing results
  • Record all results and input data into manufacturing software, databases, and forms
  • Issue Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) as necessary based on unacceptable inspection data and findings
  • Authenticate inspections and findings by providing a signature on all relevant documentation
  • Issue certificates of conformance for completed routers
Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position does not include direct supervisory duties.
