Job Description

Department Overview

The Clinical Research Assistant will work under the supervision of the PI. This position is involved in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate web-based guided mindfulness meditation as a pain management adjunct in both the pre- and post-operative setting in adult patients undergoing septorhinoplasty (nasal surgery).

Function/Duties of Position

  • Recruitment and enrollment of all eligible patients undergoing septorhinoloplasty in advance of scheduled surgery. Collection and preparation of data to include screening and monitoring study patients, pulling data from patient medical records (EPIC) for data input, analysis of data and correcting data queries, bio statistics.
  • REDCap database design, maintenance and quality.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in any field OR
  • Associate’s AND 1 year of relevant experience OR
  • 2 years of relevant experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Interact with patients in a clinical environment, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently and be self-motivated, and meticulous attention to detail with data collection and study procedures.
