General Scope of Duties

Assist the head coach of men’s and women’s swimming and diving with coaching/teaching during in-water practice sessions, out-of-water chalkboard and video analysis, in-meet coaching and pre-meet preparation, student-athlete counseling sessions (academic progress, social parameters, role on team, skill/strategy development), recruitment, and operations management. The assistant coach will adhere to all  NCAA ,  NESCAC , and College regulations and represent the institution with the highest professionalism.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in coaching/teaching, including development of practice plans, in-water teaching of skills and team concept to practice sessions.
  2. Assist head coach in executing recruitment plan including hosting on-campus visits, development of prospect database, frequent communication with prospects through email, phone, and text messaging.
  3. Assist in daily program operations including communication with team on practice times, away game departure times, meeting times, coordinate team operations, including equipment distribution and inventory, coordinate travel plan-winter training trip, bus-flight departure times, team meals, hotel room assignments, coordinate home meet preparations.

Applicant Credentialing Thorough applicant credentialing will be conducted on the selected candidate which will include criminal records check, DMV check and depending on the position psychological exam and pre-placement physical.

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. collegiate level experience in collegiate swimming and diving competition preferred.
  3. Knowledge of  NCAA and  NESCAC rules.
  4. Demonstrated leadership experience and effective communication skills.
  5. Highest ethical standards regarding sportsmanship, integrity, and professionalism.
