Takes ownership over select data science initiatives. Advances Dataworks’ broad capabilities to use and deploy cutting edge data science and machine learning tools and methods in Dataworks projects, platforms and products. Anchors current best practices by driving the design and build of reusable data science assets. Simultaneously works to keep Dataworks on the bleeding edge by understanding the very latest and most sophisticated methods and tools for grappling with extremely large scale and complex problems. Leads junior data scientists in modeling and development to support operations initiatives and strategic programs, through the use of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive and ensemble modeling, advanced statistical techniques, and use of database tools and/or other approaches in mathematical analysis. Applies understanding of ML Ops, CI/CD processes and machine learning / data engineering practices to ensure sustainable model development and provide recommendations on complex problems. Provides guidance to less senior team members to drive results. Works with cross-functional teams.
Job Description: The Data Scientist III plays a pivotal role, focused on driving data science innovation within Dataworks, helping to define and build the Dataworks organization and leading the delivery of key business initiatives. S/he acts as a “universal translator” between IT, business, software engineers and data engineers, collaborating with these multi-disciplinary teams. The Data Scientist III will contribute to the adherence of technical standards for data science and machine learning, including the design and construction of reusable data assets. S/he will work with large datasets and solve difficult analytical problems, applying advanced methods. S/he will drive the creation and implementation of solutions from concept to production, using current and emerging technologies to evaluate trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations. Day-to-day, s/he will be deeply involved in code reviews and large-scale deployments. S/he will also provide mentorship and guidance to junior data scientists to support the continued training and up-skilling of the Data Science team.

Minimum Education
Master’s Degree or equivalent in computer science, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics or related quantitative discipline. Directly related PhD preferred.
Minimum Experience
Three-Four (3-4) years’ work experience in Master’s Degree or equivalent in computer science, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics or related quantitative discipline. Directly related PhD preferred.), operations research (optimization, algorithms, mathematical modeling), and data analytics modeling to decrease cost, increase profitability, and improve customer experience. Extensive knowledge in advanced data science and machine learning tools and methods, including the iterative development of analysis pipelines to provide insights at scale. Extensive knowledge and experience in conducting end-to end analyses, including data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, and presentations. Strong understanding of the transportation industry, competitors, and evolving technologies. Experience providing some level of leadership in a general planning or consulting setting. Experience as a leader or a senior member of multi-functional project teams. Strong oral and written communication skills. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements

If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the currentstarting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factorspermitted by law. Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $111,680 - $167,520
