*This position may be filled as an Installer, Meter Services I, II, or Sr based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.*


Job Summary/Purpose

Perform all types of Meter Services work. Electric (and/or gas where applicable) turn on, turn off, removals, installs, change outs, rereads, reconnects, tampering etc.


Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working mainly three phase meters on residential and commercial accounts.
  • Perform disconnects on residential and commercial accounts due to non-payment of bill. Install and remove different types of locks for tampering prevention.
  • Must render excellent customer service in a professional manner while handling customers in the field.
  • Flexibility to work irregular or extended hours as required. Position requires the ability to work outside in all types of weather, in unusual surroundings as well as normal conditions. Must be available for call outs. Be fully capable of performing other related tasks as assigned.
  • Complete daily work tickets through the Mobile Data system.
  • Assist in storm restoration efforts as needed. Know and practice Entergy's applicable safety rules and safe work procedures at all times. Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

High School Diploma or equivalent.


Minimum experience required of the position

  • Installer, Meter Srvcs I: 0 - 2 years of work experience.
  • Installer, Meter Srvcs II: 2 - 4 years of work experience.
  • Installer, Meter Srvcs Sr: 5+ years of work experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and radio communication.
  • Ability to read maps.
  • Ability to interface with coworkers, workers from other departments, supervisors and customers.
  • Ability to make decisions without direct supervision. Ability to receive and execute orders and instructions with limited supervision.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies, after hours, and on-call duties.
  • Ability to travel including out of town assignments.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Self motivated and dependable team player.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards.
  • Ability to maintain and care for Company equipment properly and safeguard assets.
  • Ability to meet the public in a pleasant and tactful manner and understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer service.
