The City and County of Denver – Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated Electrician to complete electrical work orders in parks and recreation buildings such as golf facilities, recreation centers, maintenance shops, swimming pools, fountains, etc.
This position is shared between Golf Enterprise Operations and Parks and Recreation Facility Services.
Denver’s Parks and Recreation Department boasts one of the most expansive and diverse park systems in the Rocky Mountain West offering: more than 350 urban parks and parkways, 7 golf courses, one of the largest skate parks in the region, 14,000 acres of mountain parks, the Buffalo Bill Museum and bison herd, and a Ropes Challenge Course. We also provide and manage 27 neighborhood recreation centers with 13 indoor and 16 outdoor pools that offer hundreds of affordable programs throughout the year to our community.
Specifically, as an Electrician you will:
Perform maintenance, alteration, repair, and installation of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade
Install new or upgraded electrical equipment and/or systems for the purpose of construction, tenant finishing, or remodeling and completes circuits according to diagram specifications and code requirements
Respond to electrical service or trouble calls, troubleshoots various problems/issues, and provide problem resolution for 40 volt electrical or less
Prepare working sketches and work from blueprints, schematics, and written or verbal instructions
Estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs
Maintain records and prepares daily activity reports
Assist in the maintenance and repair work in a variety of skilled trades areas

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
NFPA70E training
Bucket truck experience
Fire and Burglar Alarm experience
Reliable transportation to and from work
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience as a licensed journey level Electrician
Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements
Licensure: (Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment)
Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application
Requires a Journey Electrician’s License issued by the State of Colorado or state issued equivalent at the time of application
Must obtain a DENFA 2 (Denver Fire Department Fire Alarm Installers) license within six months of probation
