**Equine Veterinary Ambulatory Technician/Assistant**
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist with holding horses for field procedures, including surgery and imaging (as directed by clinicians).
- Participate in continuous training to expand skills and knowledge.
- Maintain cleanliness of ambulatory vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with replenishing stock and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment and support team efforts to ensure high-quality patient care.
**Equine Veterinary Reproduction Lab Technician/Assistant**
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Set up and assist with semen processing and mare procedures.
- Coordinate with reproduction specialists to ensure smooth operations of the IVF and Therio labs.
- Assist with patient handling, restraint, and coordination of stallion handlers.
- Manage lab samples, including submission and storage, as well as frozen semen shipment.
- Maintain a well-organized daily schedule for appointments, and provide communication with clients.
- Ensure proper collaboration between the IVF and Therio labs for optimal results.
**Equine Veterinary Reproduction Farm Assistant**
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform barn chores such as feeding, cleaning stalls, and turning out horses.
- Assist top reproduction specialists with advanced equine reproductive procedures.
- Work with a team to maintain the health and well-being of breeding mares, stallions, and foals.
- Learn and support cutting-edge reproductive technologies and techniques.
- Assist with recipient and client mare duties, including sorting daily lists of mares for palpations and other veterinary work.
- Assist with daily herd health monitoring, including body conditioning, lameness, and medical symptoms documentation.
- Help administer scheduled vaccinations, deworming, and assist with farrier and dental care.
- Monitor herd nutrition and manage weight concerns.
- Operate farm machinery safely, including tractors, gators, blowers, weed eaters, and mowers.
- Adhere to biosecurity protocols and cleaning duties, including mucking stalls, sanitizing areas, and ensuring clean water and feed stations.
- Maintain farm infrastructure, including minor repairs and seasonal tasks like fence painting and snow removal.
**Skills & Qualifications (Preferred for All Roles):**
- Experience working with horses, with a particular emphasis on large animal species.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to effectively manage time, multitask, and perform well under pressure.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
- Ability to lift and handle horses and equipment, with a capacity for lifting up to 75 pounds unassisted.
- Basic understanding of equine behavior and restraint.
- Proficiency with technology, including electronic communications.
- A strong commitment to biosecurity protocols and patient safety.
