We are looking for a food runner to join our team at Maypop!
Maypop is an upscale restaurant in the CBD that blends the flavors of South East Asia and South East Louisiana. We offer a 5 and 8 course tasting menu with optional wine pairings as well as an a la carte dinner menu and happy hour menu. Food runners are expected to run the expo window, keep tickets organized, run food and drinks, communicate wine pairings, help with side work, help with table maintenance, and be the liaison between front of house and the Chef on duty. Food runners need to have extensive knowledge of the menu so they can accurately describe dishes and keep track of allergies. Organization, communication, and attention to detail are key. Maypop is only open for dinner service except for special occasions, such as private lunch events or Saints Game Day Brunches. Food Runner shifts usually start at 5 or 6pm and end once all food has been run for the evening. Food Runners are paid $10 per hour plus 3% of food sales. One year of restaurant experience is preferred. While we are only looking for a Food Runner at this time, there may be opportunity to cross train for other positions in the future.
