Under the direction of the AmeriCorps Director of State and National Service, the Grants Manager has the responsibility of managing California Volunteers’ AmeriCorps State grantmaking and contracting processes, including conducting new applicant outreach, developing Request for Application guidance and instructions for various types of AmeriCorps funding opportunities, and designing and providing technical assistance for prospective grant applicants. The incumbent ensures AmeriCorps grant applications submitted for federal funding consideration are of high quality and compliant with state and federal requirements; and therefore, must have extensive knowledge of federal legislation impacting national service, notices of federal funding opportunities, state and/or AmeriCorps rules and regulations, grant terms and conditions, and California Volunteers grantmaking and program design policies.

Persons appointed to this position must be reasonably expected to exert up to 10lbs. of force occasionally and/or a eligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects with or without reasonable accommodation. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or sanding for brief periods of time. Occasional travel up to 10% may be required.
