Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Grounds Keeper for a contracted role requiring 15-20 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining diverse plant health, including vegetables, herbs, and flowers, as well as assisting with greenhouse operations and potential homesteading activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular garden duties, including:
- Watering plants
- Checking and maintaining the greenhouse
- Monitoring plant health for vegetables, herbs, and flowers
- Assist with homesteading tasks, if applicable, based on experience.
- Maintain tools and gardening equipment in good working condition.
- Keep accurate records of plant health and garden activities.
- Collaborate with property owners on garden strategies and goals.
- Implement pest management strategies to ensure plant health.
- Assist in planning and planting seasonal crops.
- Educate property owners on gardening best practices and plant care.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in gardening, particularly with:
- Vegetable cultivation
- Herb production
- Flower care
- Familiarity with greenhouse maintenance and plant health management.
- Knowledge of sustainable gardening practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for collaboration with property owners.
