Job Title: Head of Ground Operations - Rental

Location: Remote with preference to NJ/Atlanta office

The Head of Ground Operations - Rental will be responsible for building and leading a large-scale ground operations team (that will grow into hundreds of employees) for rental car inspection services at dozens of airports across the United States. This role requires a strong leader with experience in operations management, large-scale team building, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will be capable of developing and executing an operational plan to hire, train, and manage a 24/7 workforce, ensuring high standards of performance and customer satisfaction.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

Operational Planning and Execution:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive operational plan for ground operations at multiple airport locations.
• Establish performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting systems to monitor and optimize operations.

Large-Scale Team Building and Management:

• Recruit, hire, and onboard a large organization of ground operators to cover 24/7 operations.
• Develop and execute training programs to ensure all team members are skilled and knowledgeable.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to ground operators, fostering a high-performance culture.

Process and Efficiency Optimization:

• Design and implement efficient workflows and processes to ensure timely and accurate vehicle inspections.
• Continuously evaluate and improve operational procedures to enhance productivity and quality.
• Utilize data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work closely with rental car companies, airport authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for operational issues and collaborate to resolve any challenges.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure all operations comply with company policies, airport regulations, and safety standards.

Budget and Resource Management:

• Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
• Oversee procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies necessary for ground operations.

Requirement 

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a large-scale, multi-location environment.
• Proven experience in building and leading large organizations, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Strong understanding of process optimization, workflow management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience in the rental car industry is a plus.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the US to various airport locations.
