Job summary:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Manager to join our Facilities Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field and will manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems in local and remote commercial settings. The role requires strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with personnel and providers.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Oversee installations of new HVAC systems, including compressors, motors, piping, and ducts according to blueprints and building specifications
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning ducts, refilling refrigerants, and adjusting system controls to optimize performance
Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, perform emergency repairs, and replace defective parts
Explain issues and solutions to management, provide maintenance tips, and discuss potential system upgrades
Ensure all work complies with applicable HVAC codes and safety standards
Keep detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and service calls
Assist in mentoring and training junior technicians

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in HVAC technology is a plus
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC service and maintenance
Skills: Proficient in electrical and mechanical diagnostics, able to read schematics and work plans, physically agile, and capable of working in confined spaces
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft suite as well as other software and internet resources
Language Ability: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual preferred but not required
