Responsibilities
- Lead a crew in the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties
- Interpret blueprints, site plans, and irrigation schematics to guide project execution
- Install and maintain irrigation components, including valves, piping, controllers, and sprinkler heads
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as leaks, wiring problems, and water pressure concerns
- Ensure all work meets local codes, safety regulations, and client specifications
- Train and mentor crew members in proper techniques and safety practices
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on job sites
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure project success
- Manage tools, materials, and inventory to optimize efficiency and minimize waste
- Operate machinery and equipment, including trenchers, pipe pullers, and hand tools
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in irrigation or landscaping is a plus
- At least 2 years of experience in irrigation system installation and repair
- Experience leading or supervising a crew
- Strong knowledge of irrigation components, brands (such as Hunter and Rain Bird), and water management techniques
- Ability to read blueprints and perform basic math calculations
- Valid driver’s license
- Backflow certification and/or Irrigation Technician License preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Physically able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
