Performs technical and clerical functions in one or more sections of the laboratory. Performs training and support to new staff. Supports the Laboratory Manager with quality control initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• Associates Degree Required
• Bachelors in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or related science Preferred

Required Skills:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Work Experience:

Lab Assistant I:

• Minimum one (1) year experience in phlebotomy Preferred

Lab Assistant II:

• Experience in Clinical Laboratory settings Required
• Minimum one (1) year experience in phlebotomy Preferred
• Phlebotomist Program Completion Certificate Preferred
• National Certification in Phlebotomy Preferred
