Job Description

The Laser Machine Operator position is responsible for the operation of large machinery, specifically a laser metal cutting machine, or other similar machines. This position is responsible for set-up, maintaining machinery including daily preventive maintenance, loading and unloading metal, and the operation of a laser metal cutting machine. We work with 16-22 gauge stainless steel.

Outside of the work side, Winston is just a different manufacturing environment. We employ around 200 people, so we are big enough that you won’t be worrying about your paycheck bouncing (they come weekly by the way), but small enough that you’ll be on a first name basis with your coworkers and managers (probably even the CEO). While you are working, there is a good chance that you’ll hear arguing between coworkers on UK vs Louisville, but that’s because the people we work with are like family. We encourage a team atmosphere and like to have fun at work. We need to get the job done, but we also really want to have a place that people like working at. Oh, one last thing…our regular schedule runs Mon-Thurs. So, unless we are swamped and working OT, you can plan to have off Fri-Sun.

Work Environment

• Very casual clothes permitted (shorts, t-shirt, and sneakers are no problem).
• You can listen to music on your headphones at work (as long as it can be done safely).
• We are one of the few manufacturing plants in Louisville with AC and heating.
• Can you believe that so many places won’t allow you to have your cell phone with you at work? Not us. While we don’t want you watching Netflix at work, we understand the importance of having your phone available.
