Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain low voltage systems, including twisted pair cable, fiber optic, coax, and other low voltage cables.
  • Build and manage cable pathways and telecom closets to ensure efficient system operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with low voltage systems, conducting regular inspections to prevent downtime.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, customers, and team members to ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and updates to technical documentation, including wiring diagrams and as-builts.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide clear explanations of systems.
  • Adhere to industry codes, standards, and regulations, staying informed on trends and advancements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of low voltage systems, protocols, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness and agility for installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, with overnight stays required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, NICET) are a plus.
