Job Description
MalaceHR is seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee a 1.5 million square foot campus in Galveston, TX. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing a team of 8 technicians and ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of various facility systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, UPS systems, and wastewater treatment. This role is a mix of team leadership and hands-on maintenance (approximately 25% of the time). Wage:$52k-58k/Salary
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of 8 skilled trades technicians, providing guidance and assigning tasks.
- Facility Operations: Oversee and maintain central plant systems (boilers, chillers, DX systems), cooling towers, HVAC systems, UPS systems, and wastewater treatment.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure all facility systems are functioning, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs for dormitories and other campus buildings.
- CMMS Utilization: Use CMMS systems to manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and asset tracking.
- On-Call: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergencies outside of regular working hours.
- Day-to-day : maintenance repair such as painting, dorm room repair, light electrical (changing out ballast), HVAC filter changes, drywall, etc.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in facility management or central plant operations.
- Experience managing a team in a large facility setting.
- Proficient in CMMS systems and facility systems management, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and wastewater treatment.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical, hands-on work (approximately 25% of the time).
