The Opportunity:

The Category & Brand Operations Manager is responsible for serving as the education contact for priority brand partners and merchants and serves as subject matter expert in the creation and curation of content related to the training and development of a category within the organization. The ideal candidate has category expertise, is a product enthusiast, and is passionate about designing best in class training, that inspires and enhances store teams and selling behaviors in a fast-paced and constantly changing retail environment. • Lead a top-performing portfolio of brands, optimizing their growth through store training programs
• Present on-going brand updates to various levels of leadership including executives, founders and CEO’ s, gains alignment, and provides mitigation and resolution plans to support objectives
• Analyze data to deliver personalized strategies per brand in bi-annual market planning meetings. Consult with and guide brand leaders on their appropriate resource investments, including sales team growth & placement, and creation of training content/materials for Sephora
• Act as point person for annual brand programming and or areas of responsibility
• Collaborates, strategizes and aligns with merchant leads, brand leaders and senior team members, on ways to build and grow brands through training investment and brand programming
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and contribute to the category point of view to be used in all aspects of content, education materials, tips/techniques, videos, and other digital and facilitated content 
• Identify program and skill gaps to determine training needed to support client services, categories, product differentiation, and priority brands 
• Create, collaborate on, and support the design of personalized and relevant content to develop product and category knowledge that support the client experience 
• Work in partnership across teams to drive overall category strategies and organizational initiatives with a focus on top brands, products, and trends 

• Prioritize brand, product, and category business needs. Regularly communicate with stakeholders to collaborate on innovative learning solutions to solve organization needs as related to category and programs

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

• Proven ability to develop and deliver effective educational programming 
• 3-5 years of experience in retail or beauty education with ability to connect category education to the retail environment 
• Experience and success with client interaction, service and selling skills
• Proven ability to manage projects and partner with various levels in the organization 
• High-level attention to detail and accuracy in execution of work and tasks with ability to manage workload with shifting priorities 
• Ability to be on-screen talent for presentations and digital trainings as needed 
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office and preferred experience with project management tools (Smartsheet, Box, Outlook etc.) 
• Ability to travel as required 
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline is preferred or equivalent experience 
• Cosmetology certificate and/or hair expertise/experience is preferred 

The annual base salary range for this position is $132,100.00 - $147,535.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
