Job Overview :
Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced Network Automation Engineer to join our Automation and Tooling team within the networking domain. This role focuses on creating tools and methods to reduce complexity in change management, enhance pre/post change validations, and gather network state data across various protocols. As a Network Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in improving workflows, automating network operations, and building necessary tooling and database solutions to ensure smooth network operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain automation tools for device asset discovery, data collection, and reporting, primarily using Python and Perl .
- Enhance existing scripts to improve workflows and integrate new technologies into network change management processes.
- Analyze operational and functional requirements, then design and implement solutions that address those needs.
- Conduct tooling audits to assess operational coverage and implement remediation changes as required.
Required Skills :
- Networking Protocols : Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN, ACL, and other networking concepts.
- Scripting : Expertise in Python , with experience in developing new API-based services and supporting legacy scripts.
- Automation Tools : Familiarity or experience with Ansible Tower or Ansible Automation Platform for managing network devices.
- Version Control : Proficiency in using Git (BitBucket/GitHub).
- Database Management : Knowledge of MongoDB for data storage and retrieval.
- API Knowledge : Understanding of RESTful API principles , methods, requests, authentication handling, and data serialization.
- Experience : 8-10 years of experience in network automation or related roles.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with frameworks such as Flask or Django for building APIs.
- Relevant networking certifications like CCNA or CCNP .
- RedHat Ansible certifications.
