About this Role:
Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) in the non-Modified Adjusted Gross Income (Non-MAGI) Financial Eligibility Unit of the Policy Development Branch, Medi-Cal Eligibility Division (MCED), must exercise considerable independent judgment in making decisions and recommendations that have significant impact on California's Medi-Cal program, as well as affecting county government operations, and the health and welfare of Medi-Cal beneficiaries. The AGPA will coordinate and monitor activities associated with the Non-MAGI programs and Non-MAGI income and property eligibility evaluations, property transfers, trusts, verifications, Share of Cost, programs for Seniors or Persons with Disabilities, Medicare Savings Programs, Home and Community-Based waivers and programs, In-Home Supportive Services, and collaborate on existing policy and program areas within the Medi-Cal Eligibility Division. The AGPA is responsible for a variety of assignments related to the interpretation, development, and implementation of state and federal laws and regulations relation to financial income and resource eligibility for Medi-Cal. The AGPA will coordinate and consult with multiple governmental agencies which include: federal, state, and county, legislative staff, administrative vendors, and advocacy groups. Develops and implements complex, highly visible Medi-Cal policy projects for the Medicaid population. May act as lead for major section or branch projects.

Non-Exempt Positions:
This position may be eligible for telework up to three days per week and is required to report in-person and site-based a minimum of two days per week. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS’ Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 – 14203. Telework is available to California residents, and proof of residency may be required.
Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated office and residence subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
