Job Description

We are looking for a Patternmaker for a top intimate apparel company in New York, New York. This Mid-Senior level position operates 4 days onsite in NY office and 1 day remote. 

Responsibilities:

• Create first pattern (proto patterns) from concept sketches and/or garments.  Access to our library of existing patterns.

• Develop measurement specs and construction details with help from design department for sample makers to follow.

• Oversee sample making process as it relates to any newly developed pattern.

• Make recommendations on how to improve construction for production and/or cost. Troubleshoot any challenging designs.

• Communicate with our overseas office and factories to answer any questions, comments or recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bra expertise required.

• Full-Figure experience a plus.

• Degree in Pattern-Making or Fashion Design with pattern making courses.

• 5+ years in pattern making.

• Experience in Intimate apparel including Molding for bra cups.

• Must be able to translate fit comments into pattern corrections.

• Training and/or experience on computerized pattern-making system (Lectra or similar).  Must be willing to receive training for system and eventually work on system.

• Knowledgeable in basic Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word Perfect, Outlook).

• Good Communications skills – Express ideas clearly verbally and in writing.

• Organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to work under pressure.
