PHYSICAL SECURITY OFFICER

POSITION PURPOSE

The Physical Security Officer is responsible for ensuring that all safety regulations, codes, and standards are met within our facilities. This role entails conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions to foster a culture of safety among employees. The Physical Security Officer will work closely with the Clinic Managers and Program Operations members to implement and maintain safety policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety officer or similar role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the facility to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Prepare detailed reports of findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Ensure the distribution of employee access badges and implement system controls for the execution of the location visitor policy.
• Perform risk assessments to evaluate potential risks and implement control measures to mitigate them.
• Develop and update risk management protocols and procedures.
• Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientation and annual refresher courses.
• Develop training materials and resources related to occupational health and safety.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify causes and recommend preventative measures.
• Maintain detailed records of incidents and corrective actions taken.
• Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans.
• Coordinate and conduct emergency evacuation drills and other preparedness exercises.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Prepare and submit necessary compliance reports and documentation.
• Communicate safety policies, procedures, and updates to all employees.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and engagement throughout the organization.

SALARY: Starting at $85,000 per year.
