About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Product Owner to support a mission-critical modernization initiative for a California State agency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product visioning, legacy transformation, stakeholder engagement, and agile delivery. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to define and deliver impactful digital products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and manage product roadmaps in alignment with client business goals and technical capabilities.
- Collaborate with development teams to translate product strategy into technical implementation.
- Lead initiatives to transform legacy systems into modern, user-centric platforms.
- Optimize workflow velocity by engaging end users and continuously improving service delivery.
- Act as the primary liaison with stakeholders to ensure product alignment with business needs.
- Champion structured design thinking methods to guide key decisions and product direction.
- Oversee product success metrics, backlog prioritization, release planning, and roadmap execution.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- 7+ years in product roadmap planning and technical collaboration with development teams.
- 7+ years as a product or solution specialist leading vision alignment and strategy for legacy-to-modern transformation projects.
- 7+ years managing stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals.
- 7+ years driving workflow efficiency and creating user-centered services.
- 7+ years managing the delivery, success, and iterative enhancement of digital products/platforms.
- 7+ years using structured design thinking to engage leadership in IT project execution.
Desirable Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in the Motor Vehicle industry.
- 7+ years as a Product Support Specialist on government IT projects.
- 7+ years as a Technical Product Manager.
- 7+ years including at least 5 years of experience in Release Management or similar technical roles.
- Demonstrated success in legacy system modernization projects.
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe methodologies.
