Job Description and Duties
Under general supervision of a Supervising Property Appraiser (SPA), the Junior Property Appraiser (JPA) in the Assessment Practices Survey Division (APSD) serves as a member of a survey team that reviews the assessment practices and procedures of County Assessors’ offices for compliance with property tax laws and rules. The incumbent focuses on issues involving the taxation of real property. The incumbent also assists in the review of real property appraisals as part of an assessment sampling program.

Working Conditions
- Telework is available fifty percent (50%) of the time.
- Standard office environment (for example, artificial lighting, controlled temperature, etc.).
- Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods of time.
- Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.
- Must be able to move/transport records and equipment weighing up to forty pounds (40lbs.), with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Attain a Board of Equalization (BOE) appraiser certification within the first year of employment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or equivalent programs.
- Ability to learn and apply property tax laws and rules.
