ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY – REAL ESTATE FINANCE & INVESTMENT

Hartford, CT

An AmLaw 200 firm is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join its growing Commercial Finance & Investment team in Hartford. This team represents institutional lenders, investors, and property owners in complex transactions across the United States.

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar (or sitting for the July 2025 bar exam) .

  • 0–4 years of substantive transactional experience , with a demonstrated interest in national finance and real estate investment work .

  • Strong drafting experience with loan agreements, joint ventures, and LLC documents is preferred.

  • Exposure to commercial real estate transactions is highly desirable.

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

  • Prior non-legal experience in finance, investment, or real estate industries is a plus .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in structuring and negotiating commercial finance transactions involving real estate assets.

  • Draft and review loan documents, joint venture agreements, operating agreements, and related transactional documents .

  • Work closely with partners and clients to execute complex deals across various asset classes and jurisdictions.

  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal counsel to sophisticated clients.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation : includes an annual salary range of $145,000-$165,000 , commensurate with experience, alongside eligibility for profit-sharing and a discretionary bonus .
