Come work with a great team!  Signet Health manages the behavioral health services for MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center and is seeking an experienced, professional, and organized individual for the Registered Nurse position to support our Behavioral Health - Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Our partial hospitalization program fills a gap in mental health services by providing supportive and structured crisis intervention for individuals requiring more intensive mental health care than a weekly counseling or psychiatric appointment can provide. It may also be utilized as a step down from inpatient psychiatric treatment for individuals at risk for readmission.

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position reporting to the Director of Intake and Assessment.

Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  

Responsibilities include:

• Works as part of an interdisciplinary team made up of psychiatrists, counselors/therapists/ NP
• Maintain accurate, timely, detailed reports, audits and records including initial and updated nursing assessment, treatment plans and updates
• Facilitates two psycho-education groups with documentation per day
• Serves as a liaison between physician, patient and families for medical questions and concerns
• Administer patient medication 
• Consults with insurance company for prior authorizations and continued stay reviews
• Completes intakes and  discharge plans
• Participate in patient individual and family meetings
• Display effective communication skills
• Maintains therapeutic relationships with patients, families, physicians and staff.
• Provides oversight and accountablity for the day to day functioning of the program 
• Collaborate with outside agencies for intakes and marketing

Requirements/Qualifications

• Current RN License in the state of Maryland
• BSN (Required)
• 4 years related experience
• BLS (American Heart Association BLS Provider) required

Salary Range:

$74,880 to $84,240 Annually

The Behavioral Health Program includes a 24-bed Adult inpatient unit, behavioral health specific pods in the Emergency Department and Partial Hospitalization Program.
