The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. HJF is seeking a Research Physician II to provide scientific, technical and programmatic support services to the identified program. The Research Physician is responsible for the treatment of patients during the progression of their disease and their participation in clinical research programs within established institutional policies and procedures, ensuring that all necessary steps are followed for safety and regulatory compliance, and for assuring accuracy of complex clinical documentation on patients’ records, maintaining confidentiality.
This position will be in support of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) Infectious Disease Clinical Research Program (IDCRP) and will be located at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California.
IDCRP is a U.S. Military tri-service research center headquartered within the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine at USU. The Program conducts and coordinates clinical research conducted within military medical treatment facilities under the command and control of the individual medical Services, the Defense Health Agency (DHA), and approved non- military collaborators, e.g., Veterans Health Administration (VHA) medical treatment facilities, etc., with the consent of these commands, agencies, and partners. Its mission is to perform multicenter, observational, and interventional clinical infectious disease research within the Military Health System (MHS) that informs and improves the care of the Warfighter.
This position will provide support and/or direction for the execution of clinical research protocols, may also be referred as the Site Lead, and be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
