Job Title: School Counselor
Location: Clarksburg, CA
Position Overview: The School is seeking a compassionate and experienced School Counselor to join our team. The School Counselor will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in counseling and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Student Support and Counseling:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address personal, social, emotional, and academic issues.
- Develop and implement intervention strategies to help students overcome challenges and succeed academically.
- Work with students to set personal and academic goals and provide guidance on achieving them.
- Support students in crisis situations, offering immediate assistance and referrals to outside resources when necessary.

Academic and Career Guidance:
- Assist students in developing academic plans that align with their goals and interests.
- Provide information and support regarding college and career options, helping students understand the pathways available to them.
- Collaborate with teachers to identify students who may need additional academic support and develop appropriate intervention plans.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success and address any concerns.
- Participate in student support teams, IEP meetings, and other collaborative efforts to ensure comprehensive care for students.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and any concerns.

Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop and deliver classroom lessons on topics such as social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and decision-making.
- Plan and implement school-wide programs that promote a positive school climate and address issues such as bullying, mental health awareness, and college readiness.
- Coordinate with community organizations to bring additional resources and support to students and families.

Record Keeping and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding student privacy and counseling services.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by the school administration.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Counseling.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a counseling or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child development, social-emotional learning, and academic guidance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position, following the academic calendar.
