Preble Street is seeking a Senior Director of Public Grants to enhance the financial sustainability and growth of the agency through the systematic solicitation, oversight, and administration of public funding opportunities, as well as supervision of the Public Grants team. In collaboration with Preble Streets Development Team, Program Directors, and internal and community partners, this individual will oversee and manage the entirety of the various public grants lifecycles from identification and assessment of funding prospects to final grant close-out and reporting as well as internal reporting and tracking and strategic process improvement.
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position with a Monday Friday schedule, with most work to be performed during core business hours. Remote work is available up to 16 hours per week.
The desired combination of education and relevant experience for this position includes a bachelors degree in a related field of study with five or more years of public grant management, grant accounting, finance, nonprofit accounting, budgeting, employee supervision and/or non-profit financial management experience; however, candidates with any combination of experience and education likely to provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful in the position will be considered.
Further qualifications include an understanding of homelessness and poverty and a commitment to the agency mission; knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance 2 C.F.R. Part 200 and of US Government grant terminology, eligibility, grant making agencies, and reporting; excellent business writing and verbal communication skills; ability to manage complex projects; able to develop and monitor project and program budgets, with an understanding of individual budgets within the context of the larger organizational structure; strong computer skills and proficiency in accounting software; ability to develop productive relationships with stakeholders including governmental and community partners; and demonstrated leadership and management skills.
