Job Title: Deepwater Completions Engineer (Global Projects)
Location: Houston, New Orleans, or other Shell office locations

We are seeking a highly skilled Deepwater Completions Engineer to support our Global Deepwater Completion FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) activities. This role will focus on detailed design and planning for international completion projects, ensuring alignment with our Global Well Delivery Process. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in sand control design, smart wells, and global collaboration to deliver high-quality, operational-ready completions.
- Lead the detailed design, planning, and management of Deepwater completion operations, ensuring full integration with drilling and other stakeholders.
- Prepare well design deliverables using advanced engineering software (e.g., Wellcat, WellPlan).
- Drive HSSE integration throughout design, programming, and execution; ensure all well operations meet Shell's safety and sustainability standards.
- Develop section programs and ensure smooth operational handover to in-country teams.
- Maintain risk registers, track changes (MOCs), and manage design deviations.
- Develop cost/time estimates and drive performance improvement initiatives.
- Support tendering processes and manage vendor and JV partner relationships.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with subsurface, facilities, and construction teams.
- Provide subject matter expertise in smart well designs, sand control, subsea interface, and horizontal tree systems.
Experience: 7–10 years in Well Engineering, Completions, or Well Intervention, preferably in offshore Deepwater environment.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong background in sand control and smart well design.
- Proficient in engineering tools such as Wellcat, WellPlan, and hydraulic modeling software.
- Experience with torque and drag modeling, subsea trees, and flowback/unloading systems.
- Certifications: Valid IWCF certification required.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proven ability to lead and influence across multidisciplinary global teams.
- Demonstrated autonomy in managing complex engineering workstreams.
Travel: Willingness to travel internationally, including Egypt or Trinidad & Tobago.
Availability: Flexibility to participate in calls across time zones, including Mediterranean-region support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with Shell's Global Well Delivery Process.
- Familiarity with joint venture operations and external stakeholder management.
- Track record of delivering well interventions in challenging offshore environments.
