Job Classification: Part Time or Full-time, Hourly
Supervisor: Shipping Supervisor
Job Responsibility Summary: Duties relating to the initial receiving of master coils, preparing finished goods for shipment and other necessary duties as determined by Shipping Supervisor.
Position Requirements:
-High school diploma or GED equivalent.
-General computer knowledge.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office.
- Knows fractions and decimal equivalents can read a tape measure.
- Has a valid Michigan driver’s License and reliable transportation to work daily.
- Has general shop knowledge.
- Experience with various steel types is preferred. (i.e. HB, HR, CR, GA, GN)
Job Duties Include, but not limited to:
- Using a micrometer to measure thickness of steel.
- Using a tape measure to measure coils width, ID and OD.
- Using caliper as necessary to measure coil width.
- Using hardness machine to test Rockwell when required.
- Using a plasma torch to obtain necessary samples for testing.
- Input data into the computer system, including pictures
- Safely remove packaging from incoming coils that prevent necessary checks.
- Locate material on Pick Sheets and identify per procedures for shipment.
- Assist in receiving and handling supplies from outside vendors.
- Assist in maintaining outside grounds from garbage.
- Eventual training on Crane and Hi Lo should be expected.
- General housekeeping daily and 5S compliance.
- Any other general labor duties assigned.
