Job Overview:
The Senior Claims Adjuster will be responsible for managing complex and high-value insurance claims from inception through resolution. This role requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound judgments while adhering to company policies and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in claims adjustment, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate and investigate complex insurance claims, including property, casualty, and liability claims.
* Review and analyze claim reports, documentation, and evidence to determine coverage, liability, and settlement amounts.
* Conduct interviews with claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather necessary information.
* Collaborate with legal, medical, and financial professionals to support claim resolution.
* Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and other stakeholders, ensuring fair and equitable outcomes.
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claim activities, correspondence, and decisions.
* Monitor and manage a caseload of active claims, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior adjusters and support staff.
* Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure compliance and improve processes.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims adjustment, with a proven track record in handling complex claims.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., Associate in Claims (AIC), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)) are preferred.
* Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess complex information and make informed decisions.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a customer-focused approach.
* Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
