Job Description

Summer School Secretary Location Columbus, OH (Northeast area) : Summer School Secretary-Elementary This position will support summer school being facilitated at the Elementary level. There will be 1 Elementary summer school location, Slate Hill (Grades K-2). Summer School will run June 3 through June 27; daily hours will be 8:45am to 12:15pm. This position will not exceed 70 hours during the program (this does include summer school set up May 28-May 31). Overall Duties:
  • Maintain high standards of public relations at all times through correspondence, face-to-face public encounters, or by telephone.
  • Welcome visitors and arrange for their comfort. Maintain a log of visitors to the school. Report the presence of any visitor in the building who bypasses the principal's office or any unusual behavior on the part of visitors.
  • Receive and tabulate daily attendance, maintain student attendance records, and contact parents/guardians of absent students.
  • Assist with opening and closing of summer school (e.e. printing signs, office and classroom supply management, etc.).
  • Assist teaching staff in securing Computer Services support as needed through phone calls and/or help tickets.
  • Assist with distribution/mailing of student evaluation reports/transcripts to parents/guardians and schools
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Assist teachers as directed by the summer school principal or coordinator.
  • Perform various other related office duties as assigned by the summer school principal or coordinator.
Qualifications:
  • High School graduate
  • Secretarial/clerical training and/or experience
  • Familiarity with office procedures; Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms proficiency; experience with Infinite Campus preferred
  • Self-directed/resourceful; organized with attention to detail
  • Ability ot maintain confidentiality of position
  • Consistent focus on flexibility, patience, good judgment and dependability
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of audiences, particularly when presenting information and responding to questions
  • Able to be in attendance throughout the summer sessions
  • Salary range $22.63/hr to $28.82/hr.
