Oregon’s leading winery seeks an experienced Tasting Room Manager. King Estate Winery, known as a destination location in Eugene, Oregon, includes an elegant on-site tasting room, multiple guest houses and event venues in one of the state’s most beautiful settings. - Capable of assuming responsibility for inventory management
- Experience in hiring, training and mentoring staff with the ability to lead in a high-stress environment
- Ability to execute progressive management in culinary-driven and service-focused restaurant
- Enthusiasm for food and wine and culinary trends
- Ability to forecast needs for peak season and event planning
Experience & Education:
- Five (5) years or more of experience in wine service in a fast-paced restaurant business
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Food & Beverage cost control and labor forecasting
- Successful history in personnel management
- Strong wine knowledge. Sommelier certification or WSET preferred but not required
- Computer skills including Revel, Tock, Gather, POS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) highly preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as required
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to relate to associates across all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage multiple projects with a thorough focus on detail
- Must exhibit the highest level of professionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
- Demonstrated leadership, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experience effectively managing staff, schedules, budgets and business practices
- Event coordination experience: planning, organizing, scheduling and staffing
