Job Description

Oregon’s leading winery seeks an experienced Tasting Room Manager. King Estate Winery, known as a destination location in Eugene, Oregon, includes an elegant on-site tasting room, multiple guest houses and event venues in one of the state’s most beautiful settings.   • Strong financial and business acumen with proven ability to oversee cost control, labor, management, and bottom line profitability
  • Capable of assuming responsibility for inventory management
  • Experience in hiring, training and mentoring staff with the ability to lead in a high-stress environment
  • Ability to execute progressive management in culinary-driven and service-focused restaurant
  • Enthusiasm for food and wine and culinary trends
  • Ability to forecast needs for peak season and event planning

 

 

Experience & Education:

 

  • Five (5) years or more of experience in wine service in a fast-paced restaurant business
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Food & Beverage cost control and labor forecasting
  • Successful history in personnel management
  • Strong wine knowledge. Sommelier certification or WSET preferred but not required
  • Computer skills including Revel, Tock, Gather, POS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) highly preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as required
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to relate to associates across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with a thorough focus on detail
  • Must exhibit the highest level of professionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • Demonstrated leadership, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience effectively managing staff, schedules, budgets and business practices
  • Event coordination experience: planning, organizing, scheduling and staffing
