DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Performs requirements analysis, functional analysis, performance analysis, detailed trade studies
- Develops and evaluates systems, networks, and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications
- Participates in Modeling and Simulation activities
- Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
- Provides leadership and/or direction to lower level employees
- Provides engineering support to proposals
- Guides the development and test teams on successful completion of network design implementation and verification
- Must be US Citizen due to government requirement
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret (active Secret is preferred)
- Requires a Bachelor-s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent knowledge of current state-of-the art IP Networking techniques and technologies; particularly as applied to cellular telecom Radio Access Networks and Core networks
- Proficiency with SIP and VoIP protocols; experience with voice and data gateways for cellular telecom or WAN networks
- Exposure to 3GPP mobile network standards; particularly as related to the Core Network and Multi-Media Subsystem (MMS) elements
- Excellent use and understanding of systems engineering and development lifecycle concepts and principles
- Proficiency with requirements management & network system modeling tools
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; effective in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
