Overview:
The Telephone Triage Nurse is responsible for providing appropriate health information as well as triaging the patient to the most appropriate level of care. By utilizing assessment skills in conjunction with established medical protocols, will provide phone advice, education, and triage within a full spectrum of acuity. Utilizing comprehensive nursing skills to assess and advise patients and their families, a plan of care is implemented. The plan is based upon the patient's developmental and health care needs as identified through the telephonic assessment of the patient and/or the caller's physical and psychological status in response to the established clinical guidelines. The Telephone Triage Nurse understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of patient care services.
