We are looking for a temporary Accounting Assistant to cover our current Assistants leave of absence. The position may become regular if the current Assistant does not return. This position will be eligible for benefits. Hours am or pm depending.
Basic Function
To perform assigned bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities in an efficient manner.
Responsibilities
Maintain all related accounting and bookkeeping records and accounting files in a neat orderly manner.
Compile retrieve and update accounting information in an efficient manner.
Prepare and post daily cash receipts to the appropriate account and maintain bank deposit slips in chronological order.
Perform journal entries and adjustments to the general ledger as needed.
Prepare and distribute routine presentation quality financial statements on a monthly basis.
Prepare and mail accounts payable checks on a regular basis.
Prepare a summary of account payables and receivables on a monthly basis.
Maintain an accurate bookkeeping balance and report any problems or discrepancies to management.
Initiate appropriate collection activity through telephone contact correspondence and collection agency efforts.
Print and prepare invoices for mailing on a weekly basis.
Prepare accounts receivable aging and cash requirement reports review and update as needed.
Create and maintain proper response letters for various incoming correspondence.
Enter data and maintain end of month store inventories
All other duties as assigned.

Experience
Prior accounting/bookkeeping experience 25 years.
