Job Description

Unpaid Intern - Senior Care Community Development & Resident Relations Concierge Care, a compassionate senior care provider in Edgewater, a neighborhood in Chicago, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic intern to contribute to our community development and resident relations efforts. This unpaid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in fostering a vibrant and supportive community for our residents, while learning the intricacies of resident engagement and program development. Responsibilities: * Resident Engagement & Relations:

  • Assist in developing and implementing engaging social programs and activities tailored to resident interests.
  • Provide support during resident events, outings, and social gatherings.
  • Assist in facilitating resident communication and feedback mechanisms.
  • Help build and maintain positive relationships with residents and their families.
  • Assist in resolving minor resident concerns or issues.
* Community Development & Outreach:
  • Assist in building and strengthening relationships with local community organizations and resources.
  • Support the development of community partnerships and volunteer programs.
  • Assist in planning and executing community events and outreach initiatives.
  • Help create and distribute promotional materials for community events and programs.
  • Assist in the creation of a volunteer program.
* Program Development & Support:
  • Assist in researching and developing new programs and activities to enhance resident well-being.
  • Help evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of resident participation and program outcomes.
  • Assist in gathering resident feedback to improve current programs.
Qualifications:
  • Strong passion for working with older adults and enhancing their quality of life.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative and enthusiastic with a proactive attitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., gerontology, social work, recreation therapy, community development, psychology).
